So what separates me and this blog from all of the others? That's difficult to answer, but I will say I grew up in the upper midwest in rural southern Minnesota, attended a private liberal arts college in upstate New York, a public university in Madison Wisconsin, a private graduate school in Chicago, and a public graduate school in Manhattan. So my educational experiences have been an interesting blend of public and private and my personal leanings bend both ways. My mom's an Italian from Westchester County New York and my dad's a Swede from central Minnesota. Needless to say, my life has been marked by juxtaposition, I struggle from a lack of identity, and I feel invisible these days. I consider myself a very conservative agnostic Lutheran with a strong interest in radical politics. I value anarchy and the free market and find Libertarianism and Socialism intriguing (I have never thought of myself as a Libertarian or a Socialist). Most importantly, I am in recovery from drug and alcohol addiction and dream that some day I will be able to drink and use drugs recreationally. Oh, I digress. So the news I publish often has something to do with drugs, in part, because I continue to believe that this world is plagued by them and we won't admit it or confront that reality transparently.
